Helpful information for Artists registered with the
Creators' Who's Who Project

&Q Would you say you are doing the same thing that other sites are doing or would you describe yourselves as a different kind of service? If so, how do you differ?
What we generally do is represent artists worldwide and promote their existence to our market here in Japan. This is what the OWA project is all about. But the new C-WW project will simply showcase unique global talent, and promoting their existence in the field of art, through the Creators' Who's Who web site.

The Pegasus project is involved with promoting outstanding world artists predominately to our Japanese clients such as Sony, News Watch, NTT|Communication, Toshiba e|solution and the list goes on.

As part of our duties, ICO also distributes newsletters to over 1000 Art Directors in Japan alone. (This number doesn't include the International AD's we also correspond with). These newsletters inform on news we have locally in art and of course, our main intention is to promote the international artists. We promote the many artists to our many clients and keep them up to date with anything from new art, to the awards and competitions the artists contribute to and sometimes win. I guess you can say this is why we are different from other services. We offer this service for our artists to our clients.

&Q Why do we need to send 300 dpi images on CD if it is showcasing only?
Regarding the 300 dpi images, we will keep all CD's we receive on file. For the future we are considering making a C-WW publication and we intend on including the many artists who participate with this new project. This plan takes a long time, so for now we are just keeping them on file.

Please, don't worry,
ICO will not use any of your images without your direct and formal permission. Some artists are also registering to Archive art, in which case for this purpose high resolution images are needed for printing purposes. Image resolution we use on the internet is 72 dpi. These images at 72 dpi will be appropriate for the purpose of showcasing on the web, but it's a low resolution, unsuitable for print production.

&Q Is there a problem if my images shown on your site appear on my site too?

This is totally up to you if you wish to showcase images already appearing on your personal web site, that is fine. This web site will simply showcase your talents along with a collection of other outstanding artists. We don't mind if images are also showcased on your web site. Our purpose is to promote your talents through your images, we just suggest you submit your best images as they will act as your representative images for people to identify you, not just for now, but in the years to come.
