Tom Saecker was born in 1953, in Texas, United States.

He studied art at the university of Wisconsin, followed by painting and drawing at the University of Utah. During a year in San Francisco, he taught himself to draw, gaining inspiration from the City's rich cultural and artistic heritage. Tom spent several years in Los Angeles during which time he studied illustration at "Otis Pabor's School of Design". However, he is primarily a self taught artist.

Tom gained most of his education from highly creative working professionals of the Los Angeles Art scene.

Since 1988, Tom Saecker has been living and working in Amsterdam.
