Family life

I was born in Dijon, France, in 1957. I had always enjoyed drawing as a child but didn't pick up art again until my husband gave me a watercolour set as a gift. With the colours, I immediately began experimenting and painting soon became my passion.

Until then, I had been working in Paris as a software engineer. In 1991, my husband and I left Paris for Brest. At that point, I stopped working as an engineer in order to devote more time to my art.

In 2000, I opened a gallery with friends in Pont-Aven. Since then, I have spent much of my time there. Being away from my studio most of the day forced me to find a more portable medium than acrylic or oil paints. They are very precise and offer a diversity of fine hues that can be obtained by layering several colours. In France, coloured pencils are unfortunately considered a medium for children. I am hoping to progress and exhibit my coloured pencil drawings and my paintings together, to further promote this medium.
